Several Congress leaders, activists joins BJP

JAMMU, Dec 19: Prominent Congress leader Sonu Kumar along with hundreds of his supporters joined the BJP under the leadership of Rekha Mahajan President BJP Jammu South and Dy Mayor Jammu Baldev Singh Billawaria here at Shiv nagar, RS Pura-Jammu South Constituency.
Rekha Mahajan while welcoming Sonu Kumar informed that Sonu's entry into the party fold shall boost the morale of the BJP cadre and help us to take the policies of government to the Gross root level. She also appreciates the efforts of Sonu Kumar in organizing various social programs in the last many years. She said that every worker of the party works with the principle of the nation first in mind and the prime minister has himself established the highest benchmark of serving the society and the nation selflessly. Rekha also welcomed the prominent persons for their decision to join the party, saying "the BJP has always acted as a family that respects everybody and cares for everyone". She said the party has always opened up arms for those who want to serve the nation and society.
Baldev Singh Billawaria Deputy Mayor Jammu while addressing the public informed that Sonu's entry into the party fold shall boost the morale of the youth. Baldev welcome Sonu into the party fold and said that going by its selfless policies the party is increasing base day and night along the length and breadth of the nation. Deputy Mayor Jammu while welcoming the new entrants, claimed that the people are coming forward in increasing numbers to join the BJP and strengthen the hands of Narendra Modi due to the public-friendly decisions taken by the prime minister.
The new entrants said they "were driven by the great decision" by the Modi government to revoke the special status to Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370 which forced them to join the "nationalist party".
Sonu said they have got a big relief in the form of the decision which will promise their area a better future.
Kissan Morcha Vice President Harbans Choudhary organised the program and conducted the proceedings of the program.
