Kavinder questions alleged terror link of J&K Cong President, seeks probe
12/19/2022 10:32:44 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 19: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta on Monday questioned the alleged terror links of J&K Congress President Vikar Rasool Wani and demanded thorough probe into the matter along with response from the Congress party high command.
The BJP stalwart took up the matter after Ghulam Nabi Azad's Democratic Azad Party (DAP) has leveled serious allegations against Wani for having links with terrorists and about taking help from ultras in 2005 and 2008 polls.
Citing the accusations against Wani, Kavinder also raised the issue of making Hizbul Commander an active member of Banihal Congress as was proved through his identity card duly signed by Vikar Rasool.
The senior BJP functionary said that Congress leadership under its appeasement policy was supporting terrorism in J&K and it is unfortunate that those leaders having links with terrorists are sitting at helm of affairs of the Congress party in J&K. He said that Vikar's Hawala links are also known to one and all, and despite all this, the compulsion of Congress High Command to appoint him as the Party President in Jammu and Kashmir is intriguing and needs to be probed thoroughly.
The former Deputy Chief Minister said that Congress party should have to clarify about its helplessness to give responsibility of the UT Congress to a person who has terror links and is allegedly involved in Hawala case also. He said that people of the region should better understand this nexus between Congress leadership and the terrorists, and decide whether they should support such a party which is abetting terrorism by such actions.
