Dogri Maanta Divas celebrations conclude

JAMMU, Dec 23: On 3rd and last day of DOGRI MAANTA DIVAS celebrations, DOGRI SANSTHA Jammu felicitated Sahitya Akademi Awardess during the period 2019-2022 and students who had topped in Dogri Subject in secondary school examinations at Dogri Bhawan, Dogri Sanstha, Karan Nagar Jammu.
On this occasion, Nagender Singh Jamwal (JKAS) Registrar, Mata Vaishno Devi University was chief guest whereas Dr. Ravi Shankar Sharma (JKAS) Director, School Education Jammu presided over the function.
Dogri litterateurs who were felicitated on the occasion with a shawl and a memento are Late. Om Sharma Jindradi (2019), Raj Rahi (2021) for Sahitya Akademi's main award, Vijay Sharma (2019), Shivdev Singh 'Susheel' (2020), Narsingh Dev Jamwal (2021), Rajeshwar Singh 'Raju'(2022) who have been awarded with Bal Sahitya Puraskar, Sunita Bhadwal (2020) and Neelam Sareen (2021) for translation award, Sunil Kumar(2019), Ganga Sharma (2020), Arun Aksh Dev(2021), Ashu Sharma (2022) for Yuva Puraskar. Prof. Veena Gupta, Vice president Dogri Sanstha read the citations in favour of awardees.
Thereafter, the students who had topped in Dogri Subject in Secondary School Examinations were also felicitated
Nagender Singh Jamwal, chief guest while addressing the gathering said that Dogri Sanstha has been doing commendable effort in promoting mother tongue Dogri and regional cultural heritage since its formation in 1944. He said that it's the duty of all individuals to contribute in this noble cause as Dogri is facing threat like many other mother tongues all over the world. We have to realize that our mother tongue and cultural traditions are in fact our existence and we have to preserve it all costs.
Dr. Ravi Shankar Sharma in his presidential address was full of praise for praiseworthy efforts done by Dogri Sanstha quite regularly. He further added that felicitation of students will definitely inspire others also to opt mother tongue dogri as the subject and perform well. It also acts in promotion of language.
The three days celebrations concluded with a vibrant Mushiara that captivated the audience. The poets and poetesses who enamored the poetry lovers include Dr. Bansi Lal Sharma, Randhir Singh Raipuria, Vijay Sharma, Kuldeep Kippi, Sushil Begana, Vijya Thakur, Usha Kiran 'Kiran', Abdul Qadir Kundria, Puran Chandra Sharma, Col. Raz Manawari, Sham Sajan, Dr.Chanchal Bhasin, Pawan Verma, Sunil Sharma and Rajeshwar Singh 'Raju'.
