After Pandits, Sikh community faces terror threats in Kashmir
12/24/2022 11:09:58 PM

Early Times Report

Jammu, Dec 24: Even as the victimized Pandit community has been facing multiple terror threats in Kashmir, now the Sikh community has also received similar threats.
As per the sources, the Sikh community has been targeted through a provocative threat letter believed to be from the same, The Resistance Front or TRF which has already been attacking the victimized Pandit community.
It’s fifth such threat- letter since mid of November when first such content appeared on the social media. Thereafter, there consecutive threats were addressed to the Pandit community which has already been bearing the brunt of targeted killings.
In October last year, the terrorists shot dead a woman school principal from the Kashmiri Sikh community and a Kashmiri Pandit teacher after demanding to see their identity cards inside a government-run campus in Srinagar's Eidgah locality, two days after a prominent Kashmiri Pandit businessman Makhan Lal Bindroo and a migrant roadside vendor from Bihar were gunned down within hours of each other.
The Sikh community has already been a victim of terror in Kashmir and has witnessed numerous massacres including the one in Mehjoor Nagar and Chattisingpora.
Sources said the security grid has taken a serious note of the development and a high level probe has been ordered to find out the people behind the sinister design.
Its pertinent to mention that the new wave of peace and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir since the abrogation of the so called special status of J&K has left Pakistan frustrated. As per highly placed sources in the establishment, such threats are being issued from the enemy country.
The TRF has been infamous not only for issuing terror threats but also for carrying out targeted killings in the region.
As per the senior officials in Jammu and Kashmir Police, the TRF is an offshoot of the Lashkar.
