Stephens International Public School's initiative 'A Handful of Grain' successful

JAMMU, Dec 26: To inculcate the values of Sharing in the students, Stephens International Public School started an initiative 'A Handful of Grain' for the students of pre-primary and primary wing of the school. The students voluntarily donated not only the grains and pulses but also items ranging from sugar and salt to biscuits and even clothes.
Through the drive, the school was able to collect more than 200 Kgs of rice and wheat, apart from around 100 kg sugar, 40 kg salt, around 15 kg of spices, 50 kg semolina and other items of roughly the same quantity. The parents of our nursery class students donated large quantity of biscuits. The students also collected clothes in large numbers. The spirit of giving and sharing was clearly visible.
The food thus collected was donated to the home of aged and infern as well as to the orphanage. The clothes collected were distributed among the underprivileged children in the slums of Raipur Satwari. The students also interacted with the children and the old people living in the homes.
Director Satvinder Saini stressed upon the importance of such projects and emphasized that it helped the students not only in contributing towards the betterment of society but also appreciate the hardwork done by their parents to give them the protective life.
Trustee Kunal Saini and principal Rama Jamwal also appreciated the efforts of the students and their parents.
