CBK challans 7 accused for providing jobs in J&K Police

Srinagar, Dec 29: Economic Offence Wing of Crime Branch Kashmir on Thursday produced a challan in the court of judicial Magistrate Ganderbal against seven accused on the pretext of providing jobs to the victims in Jammu and Kashmir Police Department.
The case had been registered upon a receipt of written complaint, wherein it was alleged that Rakesh Kumar of Ward No. 1 Kashmiri Mohalla, Akhnoor, Jammu and others in league with each other have dishonestly and fraudulently grabbed huge amounts from the complainants on the pretext of providing Government Jobs in J&K Police Department, a statement said.
Subsequently, Preliminary Verification was ordered into the matter which culminated into registration of Case in Police Station Crime Branch Kashmir (New Economic Offence Wing) and investigation set into motion.
During the course of the investigation, it has been established that all accused persons under a well planned criminal conspiracy with each other had lured the victims on the pretext of providing jobs in the J&K Police Department and have dishonestly and fraudulently grabbed huge amounts by cheating them.
The acts committed prima facie disclosed commission of offence punishable U/S 419, 420, 120-B RPC and accordingly Challan of the said case produced in the court of law for judicial determination, the statement reads.
The Seven accused have been identified as Rakesh Kumar , Manzoor Ahmad Ganaie, Mohammad Yousuf wani (Retired employee in Education Department), Ghulam Mohammad Sheikh @ Gulzar Sheikh @ Saleem Khan ( Discharged Constable of IRP 1st Bn Dismissed ), Abdul Qayoom Sheikh (Sweeper), Shakeel Ahmad Mir (SgCt IRP 20th Bn) and Abdul Hamid Bhat ( The then Head Constables PTS Manigam), the statement added.
