12/31/2022 10:15:22 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 31: Shiv Sena Jammu and Kashmir unit today paid heartfelt tributes to the devotees who lost their lives in the stampede at Shri Mata Vaishnodevi Bhavan on the first day of year 2022.
In this context, a Shradhanjali program was organized under the chairmanship of Manish Sahni, President Shiv Sena J&K at Holy Town Katra in which Shiv Sainiks lit candles and paid tributes to the devotees who lost their lives in the stampede on January 1, 2022.
Talking to reporters here, Sahni said that every year on the first day of New Year, lakhs of devotees visit the Holy Town Katra to pay obeisance to seek blessings of Maa Vaishno Devi. Although the Shrine Board is very cautious this year and has made adequate arrangements to deal with the crowd, but the work of providing relief to the devotees from the long queues at the registration counters is yet to be done.
Sahni said that RFID enabled registration cards are being provided to the devotees for security purposes but still the devotees have to stand in queues for long hours amidst this chilling cold due to which resentment is being seen among the devotees. He alleged that several devotees are also being deprived of Darshan due to these long queues.
Sahni urged the Shrine Board to set up more registration centers along with simplifying the registration facility considering the condition as well as devotion of the visiting devotees coming from every part of the country to perform Darshan of Maa Vaishno Devi.
On this occasion, Vice President Balwant Singh, President Kamgar Raj Singh, In-charge Ashwini Prabhakar, President District Reasi Ashwani Kumar Ashu, President Katra Vikal Abrol, President Udhampur Sanjeev Kumar, Organizer Rajesh Khajuria, Sorav Sharma, Teetu Sehgal, Media Advisor Deepak Sharma , Aryan Rajput, Ranjit Balmiki, Shashipal, Mangu Ram, Imtiaz Hussain.
