DG FW-Director Health Services Jammu inspects Health Institutions of Kathua, Udhampur Districts

JAMMU, Dec 31: Director General Family Welfare, MCH & Immunization J&K and Director Health Services Jammu Dr. Saleem-ur-Rehman today conducted a visit to PHC Majalta, District Udhampur and took stock of public health care delivery system in the hospital. The DHSJ took a round of all sections of the hospital and issued instructions for better upkeep of the MCH section. DHSJ also laid stress on Bio Medical waste management of the hospital.
The DHS also visited Trauma Centre Mahanpur, district Kathua and inspected all sections of the hospital. The DHSJ assured to provide a new oscillator for the hospital at the earliest for the smooth functioning of the patient care. The DHSJ appreciated the working of the staff in the Immunization section.
A delegation of PRI members and prominent citizens from Mahanpur also met with the Director Health Services Jammu and apprised him about the deficiency of staff in the hospital and need of fencing of the hospital for security purposes. The DHSJ promised them that these issues shall be resolved very soon.
Later, the DHSJ visited SDH Basohli where he took a detailed round of all the sections of the hospital, the Lab, X-ray Room, Dental Section, Family Welfare Section, ER Room, Labour Room and Wards. A newly established Blood Bank was also inaugurated at SDH Basohli by the DDC Chairman, Kathua Col. Mahan Singh and DHSJ, meeting the long pending demand of the public.
The DDC Chairman Kathua Col. Mahan Singh (Retd) put forward some major issues requiring immediate attention that included posting of Physician and other staff, making Ultrasound facility functional in the hospital and provision of drugs for all needy patients.
The DHSJ gave a patient hearing to the delegation and assured them of every possible action at his end. The DHSJ directed CMO Kathua to issue instructions to BMO Basohli for maintaining punctuality by the staff and also keep cleanliness in and around the hospital. The Director Health Services Jammu was accompanied by Dy. Director Dentistry Dr. Sanjay Sharma, SEPIO J&K Dr. Shahid Hussain and Chief Medical Officer Kathua Dr. Rakesh Magotra.
