NIA plays pivotal role
1/1/2023 11:41:20 PM

In 2022, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) registered a record 73 cases. In 2021 the agency had registered 61 cases.
These cases include 35 cases of terror in states such as Jammu and Kashmir, Assam, Bihar, Delhi, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharastra, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and West Bengal.
Besides registering cases, the NIA also filed 59 charge sheets in 2022 against 368 persons and arrested 456 accused, including 19 absconders.
The figures reveal that the NIA has played a pivotal role in breaking the backbone of terror networks across the country and has ensured that the terrorists don’t spread their tentacles.
The NIA has acted tough against the terrorists and their handlers, active in Jammu and Kashmir. The premiere investigation agency has choked the Hawala channels through which illegal money used to flow into J&K to keep the pot boiling. It ensured that the Hawala dealers and their conduits were identified and nailed.
The NIA launching a crackdown against separatists led to the Pakistan stooges active in the Valley winding up their shops after 30-long years. The investigating agency complimented the role played by the security forces to neutralize the terror threat.
The NIA along with the J&K Police and other central armed forces thwarted the attempts of the terrorist bosses sitting across the Line of Control (LoC) to revive terrorism in Kashmir. The investigating agency acted tough against the terrorist supporters and the over ground workers of the terrorists. It has played a pivotal role in shattering the terror ecosystem.
Steps taken by the NIA have shown positive results during the past few years. The terrorists are finding no local support due to the stringent measures taken by the investigating agencies.
The NIA, State Investigating Agency (SIA) and the security forces after the abrogation of Article 370 have acted swiftly against the terrorist supporters. Many houses that were used by the terrorists as their hideouts have been seized and the ones who used to provide shelter to them have been booked under the law of the land.
In a nutshell the security agencies and the security agencies have put the terrorists on the back foot by shattering their eco-systems and acting tough not only in J&K but across the country.
