Early Times Report

JAMMU, Jan, 10 : Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial President J&K National Conference Jammu on Tuesday asked the Home Minister Amit Shah to convene All Party Meeting (APM) to bail out the people in J&K from the prevailing situation comprising morass, uncertainty and fear psychosis on account of frequent terrorists activities especially against the minority community both in Kashmir as well as Jammu provinces.
Pertinent to mention here that the NC Provincial President along with senior party leaders visited Dhangri village yesterday to offer condolences to the bereaved family members of the victims of the terror strikes in the aforesaid area.
He astonished to know from the locals of Village Dhangri that the present administration has miserably failed to handle the present situation.
In a statement issued here today, the Party’s Provincial President expressed concern over LG Manoj Sinha’s hesitant approach in calling an All Party Meeting despite several requests made by different political parties including the NC over the burning issues which the people are confronting with in J&K since the commencement of targeted killings. He said that dillydallying stance of LG Sinha has proved deleterious for the UT of J&K as many precious lives have been lost to terror strikes and that is the reason NC has now decided to approach HM to come out with a concrete plan after consulting all the political entities through a meaningful.
All Party Meeting to be conducted as soon as possible. He also request the Union Home Minister to personally visit village Dhangri to meet the arerros affected families and also to assess the ground realities.
The senior NC leader said that earlier when target killings started in the state, the opposition requested LG to call All Party Meeting but the LG Sinha has ignored the demand and that is the reason, now the situation has become berserk and therefore the Home Minister should take a call and go for an All Party Meeting in J&K to chalk out a strategy to bail out J&K from current morass.
Rattan Lal Gupta said that issues which the people are finding it difficult to confront these days in J&K include selective killings, uncontrollable inflation, unemployment, recruitment scams, unprecedented price hike of LPG, unavailability of civic amenities, relocation of employees working in Valley, rampant corruption and others.
He said that sadly the LG has failed to hold discussion on aforesaid issues with opposition, therefore NC has decided to take up the matter with the Home Minister and that is why the party is asking Amit Shah to hold an All Party Meeting over J&K as soon as possible.
