Early Times Report
KISHTWAR, Feb 18: District Development Commissioner Kishtwar, Dr. Devansh Yadav today conducted a public outreach camp here at Government High School Sigdi Bhatta and listened and redressed the grievances of people. The DC sensitised the parents of Out of School Children (OOSC) about the "Back to School" programme under the project Talaash rolled out for the school dropouts and never enrolled children.
A large number of people and public delegations led by local PRIs and those from adjoining Panchayats marked their presence in the camp and projected the grievances regarding the development gaps and the service deliverance in their respective areas.
The DC gave a patient hearing and redressed the majority of them on the spot by passing the directions to the concerned authorities. He stressed the departmental authorities present in camp to redress the grievances of people on priority.
During the camp, the DC also interacted with the parents of the OOSCs to enroll their wards for the pre-preparatory course under Back to School initiative under the project Talaash at Govt High School Bhatta and Govt Middle School Bhatta.
He impressed upon the parents to ensure the enrolment of the school dropouts, those who have never been enrolled in schools and fall in the age group of 6-14 years. Deputy commissioner also made aware the parents about various Educational Assistance Schemes being implemented by the Labour Department and Social Welfare Department. He motivated parents to encourage their children to attend the preparatory classes starting in the twin centres from the month of April.
He stated that education of their children should be the main priority of the parents. He also assured them that Mobile teachers will be appointed for their children in the dhoks during the seasonal migration of ST community so that the study of these children is not affected during the period.
Regarding the road connectivity in the Bhatta area, the Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned to explore possibilities for providing road connectivity to the area under PMGSY.
