Road to Shri Amarnath Ji Cave Shrine is big step: Suri
2/18/2023 10:55:57 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 18: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha's assurance that after the approval of National Highway Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited's report (NHIDCL's report), construction of road connecting the Holy cave shrine of Shri Amarnath Ji from Pahalgam will be completed in five years, has sent jubilations amongst worshippers of Lord Shiva and other pilgrims who know the difficulties faced in scaling the mountainous terrains since ages.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) J&K Executive Member Raman Suri said this, adding that the prayers of pilgrims have been heard as the government has finally decided to build road up to the cave shrine and also create facilities enroute at Panjtarni, Sangam Top and Baltal. The road, once constructed, will pave way for pilgrims of all age groups to pay their obeisance at the cave shrine. These pilgrims were earlier denied access to this place as the terrain conditions were not favourable for their health.
Raman Suri said, located at the height of 13,000 feet from sea level, the place was inaccessible but due to efforts of pilgrims, langar committees and administration, this yatra gets completed every year smoothly. Some incidents of cloud burst and terrorist attacks had also been posing as hurdles in the smooth conduct of yatra but now that the road will be constructed right up to the cave shrine, these situations will also be tackled.
Terrorism, Raman Suri said, is already waning and incidents of cloud burst or other natural calamities will also be taken care of once the road reached the cave shrine as it will also enable the rescue teams, administration and soldiers taking care of security to reach and camp at the sites alongwith their men and machinery for smooth conduct of yatra.
The BJP leader hoped that the project report prepared by NHIDCL will be approved this year and the work on road construction will start as soon as possible. This will be historic and in larger interest of the people, especially pilgrims who have to face the toughest of weather vagaries, live and trek in inhuman conditions, experience minimum facilities and suffer casualties during yatra. Medical services will also be enhanced once this road right up to the cave shrine will be built.
