Anti-ragging meeting held in SCON

JAMMU, Mar 3: The Anti - Ragging Committee meeting was held at Stephens College of Nursing (Under the aegis of Dr. Aparna Educational Trust ) in accordance with the guidelines of Supreme Court and UGC. The Meeting was attended by the members who constitute the Anti - Ragging Committee which was proposed by the Anti - Ragging monitoring cell.
The minutes of the Anti- Ragging Committee were briefed by Manoj Kotru (Administrator) agreeing various measures taken by the institution to curb the menace of ragging. Satvinder Saini (NGO Representative) two Representative of SHO Miran Sahib i.e. Chain Sharma and Gopal Singh, Manoj Kotru (Administrator), Muni Dhar (Principal) Kheema Peshin (Vice Principal), All the members of Anti - Ragging Committee and 02 Class representative of Anti Ragging from each class also attended the meeting. The Agenda was briefed by the Nodal Officer of Anti - Ragging Committee Shabnam Dhiman (Assistant Professor). She also briefed that different Anti - Ragging Committee have been constituted to have look over the hostel, Canteen and Academic premises. Joyce B Singh briefed about what Constitutes ragging and the punishment thereafter related to ragging. The representative of SHO Miran Sahib suggested that the frequency of rounds in hostels and other places in campus shall be increased. Besides the Anti- ragging Committee meeting cyber crimes and Drug - de - addiction was also discussed in the meeting. The Anti- Ragging Committee and Anti - ragging Squads for the Academic year 2023-24 were approved in the Anti- ragging Committee Meeting. The Committee also resolved that regular seminars/workshops shall be held by the Psychologists and Mrs. Kheema Peshin, (Vice Principal SCON) shall also be involved in counselling session held for students who feel homesick or other behavioral problems. It was decided in the Anti ragging Committee that the undertaking on the Aman Portal shall be taken from each and every student every year from each class. The Committee also advised that the joint picnics and weekend celebrations shall be arranged between seniors and juniors to create congenial environment. The police representative also advised students to report directly to police station if they find the act of ragging is serve and requires cognizance of police. Manoj Kotru Administrator SCON assured that Anti- Ragging Committee and Anti - Ragging Squads will certainly discharge their duty more judicially.
