Decisive war against terror
3/3/2023 10:39:24 PM

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has further tightened its noose around the terrorists from Jammu and Kashmir operating from Pakistan and Pakistan occupied Kashmir.
Recently the NIA sealed the property of designated terrorist, Mushtaq Zargar, in Srinagar’s old city. Zargar, having the nickname ‘Latram’, was arrested on May 15, 1992 and later released in 1999, along with JeM chief Masood Azhar and Sheikh Omar. They were exchanged for passengers of hijacked Indian Airlines plane IC-814. Since then Zargar along with others has been operating from PoK.
The NIA court also issued a non-bailable warrant against 13 active Kishtwar terrorists operating from Pak, PoJK. These terrorists, according to police, are actively involved in terror activities aimed at creating unrest in the erstwhile Doda district and other parts of Jammu and Kashmir.
Accused have mobilised sleeper cells and pushed them into J&K in connivance with secessionist and separatists for waging war against the Government of India with the nefarious design of seceding Jammu and Kashmir from Union of India.
After the abrogation of Article 370, the government has given freehand to the anti-terror agency to act sternly against the terrorists operating in J&K and who are based in PoK and Pakistan. Seizing the properties of terrorists and the people who willfully provide shelter to the terrorists have proven to be major steps towards curbing the terrorism.
The NIA is playing a pivotal role in the decisive war launched against the terrorism. It has broken the back of the separatists by choking the Hawala channels through which illegal funds used to flow into J&K to keep the pot boiling.
The terror eco-system has been dismantled as the terrorist supporters have been identified and nailed. During the past three years ground situation has improved as the hard work put in by the security forces and the investigating agencies has led to the decline in violence levels.
The Union Home Ministry is maintaining a close vigil over the J & K situation and is ensuring that the anti-terror operations continue in full swing. The tough measures against the accused have driven home a point that no one will be allowed to preach sedition in J&K and the ones who are trying to do so from the other side of the Line of Control (LoC) will also have to face the music. Issuing warrants against them and seizing their properties are a part of the decisive war against terror in Jammu and Kashmir.
