DC reviews functioning of Zila Sainik Welfare Board

RAJOURI, Mar 3: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal on Friday chaired a meeting of the Zila Sainik Welfare Board.
The objective of the meeting was to review the functioning and the schemes being implemented by the Zila Sainik Welfare Board and also to discuss and resolve the issues faced by the ex servicemen of the district.
A comprehensive review of the functioning of the role and area of responsibility of the Zila Sainik Welfare Board was taken by the Deputy Commissioner during the meeting.
Construction of the boundary wall of the Zila Sainik Welfare office building, setting up of bore in ZSWB complex, deployment of clerical staff/ conservancy staff, due recognition of ex-servicemen during important government functions, preference for ex-servicemen in the issuance of weapons, smoothness in the issuance and renewal of gun licences to ESMs in the district, and other issues were discussed during the meeting. In the meeting, the Zila Sainik Welfare officer gave a detailed presentation regarding functioning of the Board and highlighted welfare schemes implemented by board for Ex-servicemen, Veer Naaris/ War Widows/ Veterans, War Disabled, Orphans, gallantry award winner and Non-pensioner Ex-servicemen/ Widows. Addressing the issues and demands highlighted during the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officers to ensure that the issues and demands of the ex-servicemen be addressed in a timely manner. While promising that the District Administration would provide all support possible in addressing the genuine concerns of the ex-servicemen, the DC said that we are committed to giving all assistance to make their lives as easy as possible. Many of the issues were also redressed on the spot with the intervention of the concerned quarters.
