Police drive against drug abuse to continue

REASI, Mar 6: Continuing the drive against drug abuse launched by District Police Reasi. Police arrested three notorious drug peddlers and recovered 22 gm heroin, 280 capsules of Tramadol from their possession.
During patrolling at Balni area of Katra, police party apprehended one person namely Gourav Banotra @ Mintu S/o Mohan Lal R/o Matyal,Katra and recovered 280 capsules of Tramadol from his possession.
On this a case FIR No. 70/2023 U/S 8/21/22/ NDPS Act stand registered at the Police Station Katra.
In another incident Police party of Police Station Katra while checking and frisking at Parthal Chowk area of Katra, 10 grams Heroin like Substance was recovered from Shakti Kumar S/O Sain R/O Serwad and 12 grams Heroin like substance was recovered under the driving seat of driver namely Akash Gill S/O Bodh Raj R/O Basholi, Kathua.
In this regards case FIR No. 72/2023 U/S 8/21/22/ NDPS Act stand registered at Police Station Katra. Further investigation in the case is under process to unearth forward and backward linkage, to nab whole gang involved in this trade. Arrest and recovery is made by SHO P/S Katra Nishant Gupta under the supervision of SDPO Katra Surinder Singh Baloria and overall supervision of SSP Katra Amit Bhasin - JKPS.
While sharing the details Sr. Superintendent of Police Reasi Amit Gupta - JKPS conveyed that Reasi police is committed to eradicate the menace of drug abuse from the area.SSP further added that people from all sections of the society should come forward and join hands with Police to strengthen anti-narcotic drive of District Police which is must to save our future generations.
