BJP leaders ‘inactive on ground’ to face action
3/12/2023 10:26:14 PM

Early Times Report

Jammu, Mar 12: Amid complaints that some of the leaders of the Bharatiya Janta Party from Kashmir were “only busy behaving like VIPs and being inactive on the ground”, the party is set to initiate action against the alleged deadwood.
Sources said the party is likely to sent show cause notices on this front to some of the “prominent leaders” especially from Kashmir region who are accused of not being connected to the grassroots.
A source in the party said there was a growing dissent against such politicians, including two from central Kashmir, “who are neither doing any ground work for the party nor are benefitting the party.” “One of them behaves like a VIP even with the party leaders and other one now tries to pretend that he is not part of politics but is busy in so called intellectualism,” said a source on the condition of anonymity.
The sources said the duo is also accused of even not attending crucial party meetings. “They always have been excuse that they are busy with other important work and this amounts to indiscipline,” said a source on the condition of anonymity adding “They think they are superior to us and have become self-styled intellectuals.”
It’s pertinent to mention that the development has taken place at time when the party has kick-started mega public outreach across Jammu and Kashmir.
Recently after a meeting with the Union Home Minister, Amit Shah in the national capital, the BJP kickstarted a mega public outreach across Kashmir.
Senior party leaders including Sunil Sharma and Ashok Koul personally started the outreach with Koul visiting various areas of the valley, especially south Kashmir.
The BJP has been telling its cadres that ahead of the much-awaited Assembly elections it was “crucial for each one of them to reach out the people and be their voice in the corridors of power.”
Despite repeated attempts the said BJP leaders allegedly under the scanner couldn’t be contacted for comments.
