Amid record tourism in Kashmir, Modi Govt makes Pak bite dust internationally

Early Times Report

Jammu, Mar 13: With the abrogation of the so-called special status of Jammu and Kashmir, the Modi government has been able to cut Pakistan to its size as the enemy country has started biting dust over its “international conspiracies” against Kashmir, which continues to witness record breaking tourism.
Recently the Pakistan`s Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari admitted that Islamabad has been unable to get Kashmir to the “centre” of the UN agenda and India`s diplomacy is able to scuttle its efforts. “We face a particularly uphill task to try and get Kashmir onto the centre of the agenda at the United Nations,” he recently told the reporters.
Observers look at the Pakistani statement as surrender of its international conspiracies against Kashmir due to the bold decisions taken by the Modi government since August 5, 2019.
Whereas the Modi government had already stopped separatist appeasement by banning outfits like Jamaat e Islami and Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, the strict action against terrorism has only come to the benefit of the central government.
Asserting that the Centre will continue its zero tolerance policy towards separatism, terrorism and anti national activities, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on March 12 said that violence in Kashmir, North-East and Left Wing Extremism affected areas have not only reduced in a great extent but terrorists and separatists were surrendering and returning to mainstream life.
Shah made the statements in his address while participating in the 54 th Raising Day celebrations of the CISF in Hyderabad.
“Three sectors – Kashmir, North-East and left Wing extremism affected areas – which were of concern to us, we now see a huge reduction in violence, people have more confidence and not only extremists and separatists are reducing in number but are also surrendering and returning to mainstream,” said Shah acknowledging the huge contribution of all central armed police forces (CAPF) in dealing with those perpetuating violence.
Observers said the Kashmir policy of Modi government has come to the benefit of the national interests. “Tourism has already been record breaking in the region and as Kashmir continues to be on the path on Vikas,” said an analyst.
