| Workshop on Suturing/Anastomosis organised in GMC Jammu. | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 31: The Deptt.of Surgery,GMC,Jammu organised a one day Workshop on Suturing / Anastomosis techniques & Staplers for the Senior Residents & 3rd year Postgraduates in the Skill Lab.in Collaboration with Johnson & Johnson.The Workshop was inaugurated by Principal & Dean Dr.Shashi Sudhan Sharma who complimented the Deptt.for organising such a workshop for the Residents for the first time & urged the HoD Surgery to make such workshops a regular feature in the Deptt. especially for the first year PGs so that the Redidents can learn the basic skills to benefit the Patients ultimately.She expressed happiness over the overall working of the Deptt.especially its proactive role in the management of mass trauma,Disasters etc.Dr.Ratnakar Sharma HoD surgery said that the Deptt.is doing all types of Surgeries & the waiting time of elective Surgery has been considerably reduced inspite of shortage of manpower.
He further said that the Deptt. intends to send PGs in batches for advance trainings and requested the Principal & Dean for permission.During the workshop the Residents were given hands on training on how to do gut & vascular anastomosis on sheep Aorta & intestines.They were also given training on use of different types of Staplers.Dr.Ratnakar Sharma HoD Surgery was the expert & other Faculty Members viz.Dr.Zahoor, Dr.Vikrant Singh,Dr.Sanjay Sharma,Dr.Rajni Bhardwaj,Dr.Manmeet, Dr.Rahil also participated in the workshop.Dr.Kailash Singh,Asstt.Professor Surgery conducted the proceedings of the Workshop. |
