NC irked as Mehbooba Mufti named ‘more powerful’ than Dr Farooq Abdullah
4/1/2023 12:00:36 AM
Early Times Report

Srinagar, Mar 31: Even as former Chief Minister and Peoples Democratic Party, President, Mehbooba Mufti has been named as the “most powerful” politician from Jammu and Kashmir by a leading national media house, the development has seemingly annoyed the National Conference.
A Delhi based media house has named Mehbooba Mufti and her counterpart from National Conference, Dr Farooq Abdullah among 100 most powerful Indians. While Mehbooba has been named at 88, Dr Farooq Abdullah follows her in the list at 89.
The development was cheered on the social media by PDP leaders like Firdous Tak. “According to a recent survey by IE, @MehboobaMufti
has been named the most powerful leader of Jammu and Kashmir. Her leadership, influence & zeal to stand for people are widely recognized and respected. Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition. #JammuAndKashmir,” Tak tweeted.
But NC leader Danish Iqbal reacted to contest the claims. “Anyone who watches J&K today would tell you it’s Dr Farooq Abdullah who continues to be the most influential leader on the post 370 political landscape of J&K. A thunderously loud Kashmiri nationalist. Yet the editor of IE in New Delhi seems to be far removed from the reality,” he posted.
In the list of 100 most powerful Indians, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha is in top 25.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is at No. 1 position followed by Union Home Minister Amit Shah and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar. Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud is at fourth position and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is at fifth place. As per the reports, RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat is at sixth spot.
BJP national president JP Nadda is at seventh slot followed by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. Richest Indian Mukesh Ambani is at ninth place and National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval is at 10th place.
