4/3/2023 11:02:48 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 3: Jammu Kashmir Teacher Master Association (JKTMA) held meeting under the presidentship of UT President Rakesh Singh to discuss the burning issues of Teachers & Master's with special focus on DPC of Teachers and masters to incharge Lecturers.
Singh expressed strong resentment against the lethargic working machinery of school Education department related to DPC and said that despite repeated demand of DPC of Teachers/Masters to Lecturers in various disciplines specially in Botany/Zoology before commencement of new academic session, concerned authorities fail to concede the same , which is a matter of grave concern as enrollment drive and NEP-2020 cannot be achieved with full satisfaction until all the vacant posts of Lecturers shall be filled in all the Higher Secondary Schools.
Singh make a strong appeal to worthy Principal Secretary SED Alok Kumar to gear the machinery to expedite the process of DPC this month , with aim to fulfill all the vacant posts of Lecturers particularly in rural areas , so that studies of these students do no adversely affected due to shortage of Lecturers and also to remove stagnation among Teachers/Masters.
While speaking on the occasion Singh invited attention of higher authorities not to consider the distance education degrees in science stream for the benefit of DPC keeping in view recent Jammu Kashmir High court Judgements, as per which Science stream degrees involve Laboratory Oriented work as such those acquired via distance education is not valid for DPC.
Association also demands DPC by hundred percent quota on one time basis as per State Administrative Council decision.
Association also invited attention towards recent promotion of Teachers to Incharge Masters instead of full fledge Master which is a matter of serious concern as this will deteriorate the status and cadre of master and demanded to end this practice.
"Rationalisation of lecturers ,Masters and Teacher's as per subject need and enrollment of school is need of hour keeping in view distrubing trend of PTR in rural areas" Association " Singh said. Other demands raised by association are Introduction of subjects in upgraded HSS , sanction of posts in hanging schools, handing over Mid Day Meal work to some NGO within municipal limits and to Anganwadi helpers in rural areas by merging all such Anganwadi centres with nearest Govt. schools, providing VIP status to Teachers in govt. office's.
