BKS holds felicitation, music event

JAMMU, Apr 5: Bhartiya Kala Sangam today held a music program, which was followed by felicitation of eminent persons at K. L. Saigal Hall in the premises of JK Academy of Art, Culture and Languages Jammu.
In this program, Trishala Kundal, Spl Secretary, Department of Culture was chief guest, Bharat Singh, KAS, Secretary JK Cultural Academy, Romesh Kowal, KPS, SSP were Special Guests whereas Sohail Kazmi, Sr. Journalist, Patron in Chief presided over the function. Besides, T.R.Sharma, KAS (Retd), Chairman Romesh Singh Chib, Director BKS and other galaxy of guests were also present on the occasion.
Addressing the audience, Trishala Kundal lauded the efforts of BKS for holding mesmerizing music program and felicitating the eminent personalities of Jammu belonging to different fields of the society.
Earlier welcoming the guests T. R. Sharma gave a brief account of the functioning of Bhartiya Kala Sangam, which started working from the year 1980. He said during this period, BKS held various programmes in the field of art, culture and languages. He informed that promoting budding artists from different parts of Jammu Division has been the main objective of BKS.
Sohail Kazmi in his presidential address highlighted the importance of Dogra Culture and appreciated the efforts of Bhartiya Kala Sangam for holding such events in a regular manner to promote and develop local culture of Dogra land. He said that local culture of any region is the backbone of the society, which must be strengthened by one and all.
On this occasion, chief guest, special guests and other eminent personalities were honoured. The singers and instrumentalists who performed were Bishan Dass, Aditya Kumar, Tilak Raj Tagotra and Chachal Sharma Joginder Paul and Chandan.
The function was anchored by Rajni Anubhav and vote of thanks presented by Romesh Singh Chib, Director Bhartiya Kala Sangam.
