Mudslinging won’t help
4/5/2023 11:24:48 PM

Congress leaders in Jammu and Kashmir are once again in news. They are using social media platforms to sling mud on each other.
According to media reports screenshots of chats have gone viral on social media in which party leaders exposed two former Congress ministers. As per the chat, a leader charged a former minister with being involved in corruption and nepotism.
The infighting in the Congress Party seems to be a never ending phenomenon. After losing power in 2014, the Congress leaders in Jammu and Kashmir have gone completely astray.
Many of them have said goodbye to the “Grand Old Party” of the country and the ones who have remained with the party have failed to play a role of a vibrant opposition. Instead of highlighting the shortcomings of their opponents, they have been busy taunting each other.
The sorry state of party affairs is clearly visible as the Congress leaders are using social media to sling mud on each other.
Bringing discipline in the faction-ridden Congress party appears to be a distant dream. It appears that the party high command also has given up on its leaders in Jammu and Kashmir and is allowing them to do whatever they want.
The Congress leaders are trying to expose each other through fake accounts and are levelling serious allegations against senior leaders.
If the Congress leaders continue to pull each other down, the party may end up in a big mess by the time assembly elections are announced in Jammu and Kashmir.
As it is, the Congress Party leaders have lost their constituencies and are finding it hard to make a comeback. People are asking them to show what they have done for the masses after 2014. They are asking them why they couldn’t play a role of opposition and went into hibernation when the people needed their support to highlight their grievances? Ones who are believing that they would be able to get a mandate for elections seem to have forgotten that even after getting the mandate they won’t be able to strike a chord with the people as their performance as opposition leaders has been zero.
The Congress leaders should stop mud slinging and put their act together before they witness yet another disaster in the forthcoming assembly elections in J&K.
