| Police tighten noose on narcotics smugglers | | |  Early Times Report
Katra, Apr 10: A Police Party of PS Katra headed by PSI Mayank Jamwal while on checking/frisking duty at PCP Balni recovered 20 grams Heroin like substance from the possession of Ankush Kumar S/o Mohinder Kumar R/o Upper Hathal, Sundarbani, Rajouri A/P Krishna Gali Katra who was coming by foot from Reasi side towards Katra. On this, Case FIR No 104/2023 U/S 8/21/22/ NDPS Act stands registered at this PS and investigation is going on.
In another incident, Police party of PS Katra headed by PSI Raghav Chalotra were on checking/frisking duty in Searli where a pedestrian was stopped for routine checking who was coming from Panthal side towards Katra town.
During checking of the said person, 150 gms of Ganja like substance was recovered from his possession.
On enquiry,he disclosed his name as Vijay S/o Puran Mal R/o Buchahera Distt Kotputli,Rajasthan.On this case FIR No 103/2023 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act stands registered at P/S Katra and investigation initiated.
The whole operation is led by I/CPP SHO P/S Katra Insp. Nishant Gupta under the supervision of SDPO Katra Sh. Surinder Singh-JKPS and overall supervision of SSP Katra Amit Basin- JKPS.
SSP Reasi Sh Amit Gupta-JKPS further conveyed that Reasi police is committed to eradicate the menace of drug abuse and illicit liquor smuggling from the area and people from all sections of the society should come forward and join hands with Police to strengthen anti-drug drive of District Police Reasi and share any information regarding such illegal activities on district police anti drug helpline no. 9070907017 where identity of caller is kept secret. |
