ACR flags off Voters’ awareness rally at Panchari

UDHAMPUR, Apr 11: To generate awareness among the common masses about the importance of election process in Democracy, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Udhampur (Electoral Registration Officer Udhampur West-59 and East-60 Constituencies) Rafiq Ahmad Jaral, today flagged off voters awareness rally here from Government Higher Secondary School Panchari under the aegis of Systematic Voters Education and Electoral participation (SVEEP). BDC Chairman, Jeevan Kumar Sharma; Tehsildar, Panchari Vipan Kumar; BDO, Panchari Sandeep Gupta, besides representatives of other line departments, students, staff members and general public of the area participated in the Rally. Interacting with the participants, the ACR said the main objective of organising this awareness rally was to educate the common masses of the District and to disseminate the information about Special Summary Revision 2023 to the last voter of the District to achieve 100% enrollment of eligible voters. He said that the main focus of the campaign is to register all youth who have attained the qualifying age of 18 years on April 1, 2023, however prospective voters who shall attain the age of 18 years on 1st July 2023 and on 1st October 2023 may also submit their documents for their enrollment as voter in during the year; besides they can also contact their BLOs for registration during Special summary revision. He apprised the participants that Summary revision has commenced from 5th of April 2023 under the supervision of District Election Officer, Udhampur Krittika Jyotsna, which shall culminate on 20th of April 2023 in the District Udhampur. He impressed upon the young students to participate in the electoral process with great enthusiasm, so that healthy electoral roll is ensured. The healthy electoral determines the foundation of a smooth election and a healthy democracy, he added.
