KVK Kishtwar lays FLDs on Scientific Paddy Cultivation

JAMMU, Apr 17: For promoting scientific paddy cultivation in District Kishtwar, Krishi Vigyan Kendra Kishtwar, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu today initiated laying out Front Line Demonstrations (FLDs) on paddy crop in an area of 200 Kanal in villages Pranzil, Supnai, Sigdi and Galhar of the District.
Trainings for 100 farmers were conducted in the villages under FLDs on raising paddy nursery and management on scientific lines during the week long programme. The participants were also trained about scientific cultivation and agronomic practices of paddy crop. Seed of High Yielding Variety of Paddy was distributed among 100 farmers covered under the programme in the presence of Subash Chander Member J&K Advisory Board for Kissans.
Dr Narinder Paul incharge scientist KVK Kishtwar organized the programme under the supervision of Dr SK Gupta Director Extension SKUAST Jammu. Amjad Malik CAO, Kishtwar, Arif Khurshid Sirwal, AEO Kandani and Nisha Sharma, AEO Padyarna collaborated with KVK for laying out the demonstrations. Om Prakash, Ved Prakash, Sat Lal, Mohd. Akram, Hazra Begum, Mohd. Iqbal, Falima Begum, Bhopa Ram, Girdhari Lal, Ram Krishan and other farmers of the villages participated in the programme.
