Jammu, Apr 17: The complaints of alleged infighting between some officials in the civil and the police administration have reached the corridors of power in the national capital with Union Home Ministry taking note of the inputs.
Highly placed Sources said the Ministry of Home Affairs has received inputs that some officials in the civil and police administration were “more into internal bickering than focusing on the Naya Kashmir” as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.
Sources said during a meeting recently held in the national and attended by the top brass from Jammu and Kashmir including Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha himself, the “feelers about the issue were discussed.”
Sources said meeting was told that the administration in Jammu and Kashmir “needs to be focused on the deliverance of good governance than anything else.”
It was reliably learnt that the issue about alleged internal bickering came to spotlight after a former Director General of Police expressed his resentment over some transfers that had taken place in police though the civil administration “in stark violation of the precedence.”
Sources said complaints of allegations about some officials resorting to corruption in Kashmir in particular have also reached the corridors of power in Delhi.
Sources said the meeting was told that the government was committed for era of peace and prosperity in the Union Territory and that the civil and police administration needs to work in coordination for corruption free governance.
The sources said at the meeting it was conveyed that no indiscipline would be tolerated.
Sources said issue of “internal bickering among three four officials and officers was discussed in particular.”
The sources said some quarters in New Delhi are of the opinion that at the security review meetings on Jammu and Kashmir, the issues of administration need to be discussed threadbare on monthly bases with focus on complaints of corruption if any.
