Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 17: BJP MP Rajya Sabha Er. Gulam Ali Khatana has urged Minister for Information & Broadcasting Anurag Thakur to intervene and re-start the Dogri website on All India News online.
In a strong communiqué to the Minister for I&B Anurag Thakur on stopping the updating of Dogri news bulletin on AIR website, Er. Gulam Ali said that
A number of delegations have been approaching him with the demand for restarting the website in Dogri language, which has been included in the 8th schedule of the Indian Constitution and is spoken by over 1.25 crore Dogras belonging to Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Punjab. He further said that the Dogri language website has been stopped updating since March 2021 for the reasons best known to the authorities at the helm.
The matter was taken up with the DDG AIR News, New Delhi and CEO Prasar Bharti but nothing concrete has been done so far, wrote Er. Gulam Ali, saying "So I seek your personal indulgence to resolve the issue and restart the AIR news website".
It won't be out of place to mention that the website stopped publishing news on March 30, 2021 with the news of registration of Amarnath yatris from April and hope that you will resolve the issue before the start of Shri Amarnath yatra in 2023, said MP Gulam Ali.
