SSP traffic visits Samba, holds meeting

JAMMU, Apr 17: On 17th of April, 2023, incharge SSP (T) Rural Jammu, Shri M. Fiesel Qureshi visited District Samba and convened meetings with the representatives of Beopar Mandal of SIDCO area, Presidents of Public Transport, Matador, /Auto Unions at SIDCO Samba today on 17th of April, 2023. Javaid Iqbal Tabassam, DySP(T) Samba-Kathua and concerned DTI were also present on the occasion.
The participants in the meeting welcomed the J&K Traffic Police for initiating the good steps to curb the menace of overloading, Rash & Negligent driving, Use of Liquor, Stunt/Triple riding in two wheelers and Mobile Phones etc. while driving besides 100 percent e-challaning system.
Among others; the PresidentSIDCO Industry, Raman Jally, Transport President, Binny, Transport Vice President, Parshotam Sharma, President of Auto Load carrier, Ajay Kumar, Auto Passenger President, Varinder Singh, Sarpanch Nud, Rajinder Singh, President Matadoor (Route Bairdu) Neeraj Singh, President Matadoor Route Sumb, Neeta Singh, President Batal -Mansar, Daljeet Singh, President Beopar Mandal, Tajinder Singh, Chairman Transport Samba, Amardeep Singh and Civil society members of SIDCO Samba were present in the meeting.
The participants especiallyraised their demands like (1) Opening of Cut at SIDCO Chowk samba (2) Installation of Mirrors on the under pass road from Mansar-Chhichhi Mata temple (3) Adequate parking space at Samba town ( 4) Identified routes for e-Rakshwa vehicles (5) HMV diversions in Samba Bazaar & (6) Avoiding of wrong vehicle parking at Nud Mansar.
M. Fiesel Qureshi, SSP Traffic Rural Jammu have assured the participants that the matter will be taken up with the concerned Civil administrations for doing the needful on priority basis, so that the general public could not face the problems.
The officer also stressed upon the challaning officer(s) to deal the traffic violators strictly, as per the provision of new amended Motor Vehicle Act-2019 and ensure wearing of Body Worn Cameras and use of other issued traffic electronic gadgets while challaning and special stress be given towards the visible offences like OVERLOADING, OVER SPEEDING, DRUNKEN DRIVING, WITHOUT SEAT BELTS, USE OF MOBILE PHONE & CRASH HELMETS etc. The concerned challaning officers shall also launch the joint special drives against the traffic violators in their respective areas, so that the traffic violators are dealt with iron hands. They will also conduct the seminars/awareness camps with transporters, vehicle operators, other NGOs, NSS/NCC Volunteers in their respective areas to educate them about the traffic rules and regulations.
