Thousands participated in Brahman Sammelan

JAMMU, Apr 22: To celebrate Bhagwan Parshuram Janmotsav Dogra Grameen Brahmin Sabha today organized a mega Brahman Sammelan at 20 Miles. Under the chairmanship of Pandit Parshotam Sharma and the Presidentship of Suresh Kumar Sharma, the programme started with the Yagyopaveet of hundred students amid all rituals which was followed by Havan Yagya and purnahuti.
Padma Shri Pt. Vishwamurti Shastri, Pt. Yash Pal Sharma Mathwar Wale, Pandit Suresh Shastri and Pt. Vijay Parashar Shastri were the special guests during the grand sammelan who all enlightened the gathering about the history and importance of Bhagwan Parshuram. The great saints in their address taught the present gathering to follow the path of Santan Dharma. In their address they appealed to the gathered brahman samaj to wage a war against various social evils in the society. They said Brahman is one who has knowledge of both Shstra and Shastra. They called on the gathered people to acquire more and more knowledge and spread it among the society to make a well aware society and nation as a whole.
Pt. Suresh Shastri Ji recited devotional songs and bhajans mesmerizing the gathering with a religious and spiritual atmosphere. Vijay Parashar Maharaj, in his discourse, threw light on the responsibilities of Brahmin.
Mayor Rajinder Sharma, DDC Member Suresh Sharma, Former Cabinet Minister Sat Sharma, Advocate Abhinav Sharma, Shakti Dutt Sharma, Somnath Khajuria, Kuldeep Sharma, SP Ajay Sharma, DySP Mohan Sharma, DySP Bharat Sharma along with many other dignitaries paid their obeisances during the sammelan.
Pandit Parshotam Sharma, Chairman Dogra Grameen Brahmin Sabha, called upon the community to follow the path shown by the great gurus and work for the uplift of every section of society. He talked about various social evils and urged the Brahmin community to wage a war against these evils. President of Dogra Grameen Brahmin Sabha, Suresh Kumar Sharma said that the Sabha will continue its work for the welfare of the community and society as a whole.
On the occasion, Office bearers of Dogra Grameen Brahmin Sabha honored Sant Samaj, Brahman Leaders, Media Personalities, Police officers, Civil officers and prominent citizens for their contribution to society. Others, who addressed the gathering, include Vice Presidents Omkar Sharma and Krishan Lal, General Secretaries Bhagwan Dass and Neelkanth Sharma, Media Secretaries Vishal Sharma and Ramesh Sharma, Vinod Sharma, Naresh Sudan, Ankush Sudan, Atul Sudan etc.
