Seven day NSS special summer camp inaugurated at Govt GLDM Degree College

KATHUA, Apr 25: NSS unit of Govt.GLDM Degree College, Hiranagar begin seven days special summer camp in the college premises. The camp was inaugurated by worthy Principal of the college, Dr. Pragya Khanna. The program started with welcome address by Prof. Rakesh Sharma, Advisor, NSS unit followed by lightening of traditional lamp and Saraswati bandana. This was followed by NSS pledge by all the participants. The Principal of the College declared the camp open and also advised the volunteers to imbibe the feeling of social service in them so that they can play an important role in nation building. She said that the main theme of such camps is to make education more relevant to the present situation to meet the felt needs of the communities and supplement the education of college students by bringing them face to face with the community situation. NSS Program officer, Prof. Ajay Sharma in his presentation rolled out the detailed schedule of the special camp going to be organized at adopted village Pathwal. After the inauguration ceremony, a seminar on save water and save energy was organized in which five NSS volunteers presented their views on the topic. The proceedings of the event were carried out by NSS volunteers. Other NSS team members who graced the occasion were Dr Kiran Thapa, Prof.Manjot Singh, Prof. Chinky Sangral, Dr. Usha Rani, Dr. Bharat Bhushan, Dr. Mukesh Kumar and Vikram Singh. A formal vote of thanks was presented by Prof. Nidhi.
