DM chairs district level NCORD meeting

REASI, Apr 25: District Magistrate Reasi, Babila Rakwal today chaired a meeting of the District Level Committee under the Narco Coordination Centre (NCORD) to discuss the measures to curb the drug abuse and narcotic trade in the district.
The DM directed the concerned to circulate the dedicated helpline number 9070907017 among the public through social media, at Police Public meetings, Thana Diwas, Writing on the Government Buildings, especially on Panchayat Ghars, Patwar Khanas, Schools and Colleges to enable the public to share any information with regard to the Drug abuse.
DM directed Principals of Degree colleges and Chief Education officer Reasi to direct the staff to regularly monitor the behaviour of the students and ensure that no student who has left the institution roam again without any reason.
During the meeting, threadbare discussion was held on various issues related to incidence of drug addiction besides measures taken by law enforcement agencies to curb the menace.
DM discussed on various agenda points including IEC activities, special PTM in educational institutions, awareness among drivers, functioning of drug de addiction centre etc.
DM stressed on hosting symposiums, seminars, and workshops in government institutions regarding drug addiction and its ill effects on society.
Babila Rakwal stressed upon the Officers of all the line Departments including Enforcement agencies to ensure better coordination in imposing greater deterrence to combat dangerous trade of drug-trafficking.
SSP Reasi Amit Gupta, ADC Abdul Star, CEO, District Drug Controller officer attended the meeting.
