Mission Director Dairy Development visits JKMPCL

JAMMU, Apr 27: N. S. Bali (IAS), Mission Director Dairy Development, J&K visited Milk Plant Satwari. He overviewed the construction progress of UHT plant and Administrative block being constructed in the plant premises under NPDD project.
Bali talked about the first UHT plant in the hilly state of India in Jammu (Satwari) where high quality processed milk will be packed. Due to its 3 months shelf life, the milk would be made available for the consumers of J&K and also for export market. The holding capacity of JKMPCL Milk Processing Plant Satwari is being increased from 1.40 lacs litres to 2.60 lacs litres. He assured that the future of dairy in J&K is bright. He pointed out that J&K government is closely monitoring the dairy development in the state and he is always ready to support JKMPCL and farmers associated with it. Moreover, he directed JKMPCL to execute the work on fast-track mode.
Further, he reviewed and discussed about five storeyed new Administrative Block in the premises of JKMPCL, Satwari which is nearly at its completion stage. It will also have Farmer's Training cum Awareness Centre for implementation of different schemes and policies at village level. He further pointed out that Jammu and Kashmir Milk Producers' Cooperative Limited is always at the forefront of creating and improving the technology needed to make high-quality processed milk & milk products.
He was assisted by Chief Executive Officer, JKMPCL - Gaurav Sharma, along with his staff members during his visit.
