JAMMU, Apr 27: Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan Committee (NMBAC) and NSS Unit -1 of Padma Shri Padma Sachdev Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, today organised a Pledge taking Ceremony wherein 83 students/ volunteers and faculty took the pledge on the theme 'Say Yes to life, No to Drugs.
The programme started with the welcome address by Prof Rashmi Kumari , Convenor NMBAC .The College Principal, Prof Menu Mahajan, in her address, emphasised that drug abuse not only affects a person's physical and mental health but also has a negative impact on their relationships, education, career, and overall well-being.
She stressed upon organizing such events in the college on regular intervals as these can play a significant role in creating a drug-free society and promoting a healthy and productive lifestyle. She also applauded the initiatives taken by the organising team of NMBAC and NSS Unit -1 for creating the awareness on drug abuse amongst the students.
Prof. Mala Bhasin, NSS Program Coordinator Cluster University Jammu, also stressed upon the need to educate people, especially young individuals, about the dangers of drug abuse and encourage them to make positive and healthy choices.
Prof Sugandha Mahajan, NSS Programme officer Unit 1 read out the pledge. Prof Mamta Gupta, Prof Anupama Sharma, Dr Suraj Mohani, Prof Paramjeet Singh, Prof Swarn Singh and Prof Kusum were also present.
