Man arrested for ATM card theft in Rajouri

Rajouri, Apr 28: A “notorious cheater” involved in several ATM card thefts and fraudulently withdrawing money has been arrested in the city, police said Thursday.
Mohd Rizwan S/o Mohd Luqman R/o Saaj Thannamandi was involved in multiple incidents of cheating and theft, they said.
Rizwan would “fraudulently” take ATM cards from individuals and use them to withdraw money from the machines.
As per report on 25th of May Attaullah S/o Slah Mohd R/o Dhala Kalakote lodged a written complaint at police station Rajouri that unknown person swapped his ATM Debit card while he was withdrawing money from JK Bank ATM Gujjar Mandi Fraudulently with another similar card from which an amount of Rs 25000/-has been withdrawn from his account. On this a case FIR no. 190/2023 U/s 420/379 IPC registered and investigation was started PSI Farah Jabeen
A team of police station Rajouri headed by PSI farah Jabeen under the supervision of SHO Rajouri Mohd showket and Dy SP Mudasir Hussain JKPS , overall supervision of SSP Rajouri IPS Amritpal Singh IPS nabbed Mohd Rizwan s/o mohd luqman R/o saaj tehsil thana mandi Rajouri , 38500/- Atm card of the applicant with 8 other ATM cards has been recovered from his possession.
During investigation it was observed that the above said accused is addicted to psychotropic substances and to meet his need for the same , he used to stay near Atms to target the innocents in the pretext of helping them to withdraw cash and replace the debit cards . so far , he duped around more than a dozen person further investigation is going on, more recoveries can be expected with the same
