Early Times Report

Jammu, Mar 3: In view of the upcoming Holi festival to be celebrated on March 04, 2026, the Traffic Police City Jammu has issued a comprehensive traffic advisory to ensure smooth vehicular movement and public safety across the city.
Highlighting that Holi symbolizes brotherhood, harmony, and the triumph of good over evil, the Traffic Police has urged citizens to celebrate the festival with responsibility and discipline. Keeping in mind the anticipated rush and public gatherings, authorities have strictly prohibited wrong parking and roadside parking anywhere in the city during the celebrations to prevent traffic jams and congestion.
The advisory clearly states that stringent action will be taken against violators indulging in drunken driving, overspeeding, stunt biking, reckless driving, dangerous driving, and riding without crash helmets. Special emphasis has been laid on curbing stunt biking, which poses a serious threat to both riders and the general public.
Officials have further directed event organizers and the general public to adhere strictly to traffic rules and regulations to ensure safe and hassle-free movement during the festivities.
In case of any emergency or traffic-related assistance, commuters can contact the Traffic Control Unit (TCU) Jammu on the following helpline numbers: 0191-2459048 and 94191-47732.
The advisory has been issued under the directions of the Superintendent of Police, Traffic City Jammu, Amit Bhasin (JKPS), reaffirming the department’s commitment to maintaining law and order and ensuring a peaceful Holi celebration across Jammu city.
