Farooq Abdullah blind to success of Y20 Jammu meet: Raman Suri
"NC playing divisive politics"
5/3/2023 10:28:22 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 3: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) J&K Executive Member Raman Suri today took the former Chief Minister of J&K and National Conference President Farooq Abdullah head-on, asking him to stop playing divisive politics by shouting how Jammu did not get any G20 meet. For the information of Farooq Abdullah, the Youth-20 (Y20) meeting which is part of over-2000 G20 events being held in the country was a major diplomatic achievement for India and Y20 Jammu meet was also part of this event, Raman Suri added.
He regretted that such a grand success at international level wherein Ladakh and Jammu listened to the opinion of young foreign delegations is not being digested by the National Conference and its leaders, who are still stuck in 2019 when Article 370 was abrogated and a way for such events was paved. Irked over India's grand success, Farooq Abdullah stands blinded towards such developments wherein youngsters from around the globe are descending in Jammu and Ladakh to have a fair judgement of the situation and are going back home with sweet memories.
Raman Suri said, for the knowledge of former Chief Minister who is finding flaws even in the best of events, Y20 meet held at Jammu University was also a part of the G20 meet and instead of cribbing, he should have appreciated Kashmir hosting G20 delegates and welcomed young delegates from other countries to Jammu as well as Ladakh. Instead, the he chose to crib, spread hatred, and divide people on the conventional lines of regional and religious divide.
Raman Suri said that this is strange that even though delegates from various countries and universities of India besides youth representatives attended the Y20 Consultation meet which was addressed by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha; Farooq Abdullah is saying that in Jammu no meeting was held. This is absurd, dirty politics and a move to spread hatred against each other. "We the people of Jammu are very happy to see G20 delegates from countries around the world descending in Kashmir and wonder why Farooq Abdullah had a problem with Y20 delegates arriving in Jammu", said Raman Suri.
LG Manoj Sinha spoke at length on the theme "Peace building and reconciliation: Ushering in an era of no war" at the University of Jammu where this Y20 Summit, which is a youth-led event, brought together young leaders from across G20 countries to discuss and debate the G20 leaders' agenda. Why is this irking Farooq and what position he wants to make. Kashmir is very much integral part of India and any such international event being held in Kashmir or elsewhere in India is a matter of pride for every Indian, then why this frustrated NC leader is speaking on divisive lines must be probed, he asserted.
