DC presides over LG's Special Governance Camps for West Pakistani Refugees

KATHUA, May 3: Deputy Commissioner Kathua Rakesh Minhas today presided over the ongoing LG's Special Governance Camps for West Pakistani Refugees (WPRs) of 1947. The DC Kathua was accompanied by ACR, Vishav Pratap Singh, Tehsildar Kathua and other District & Sectoral Officers.
The camp was set up at the Office Building of Patwar Halqa, near District Employment & Counselling Centre Kathua to provide essential services to the WPRs, including documentation, healthcare, education and livelihood support.
On the occasion, the DC inspected the facilities being provided in the camps and to obtain the feedback from the beneficiaries, besides ensuring that they receive all necessary services and support.
The DC also met with the WPRs and listened to their grievances. He also reviewed the progress of the ongoing camps and directed the concerned officials to ensure that all necessary services are provided to the WPRs.
Speaking on the occasion, Rakesh Minhas said, "The LG's Special Governance Camps are an important initiative aimed at providing essential services to the West Pakistani Refugees. These camps will go a long way in addressing the issues faced by the WPRs, including documentation, healthcare, education, and livelihood support. He said that these camps are meant to provide One Stop Platform for Providing all the services. We are committed to extending all necessary support to the community members, and we will ensure that all their grievances are addressed.
The DC also appreciated the efforts of the officials and staff involved in the organization and management of the camps. He urged them to continue working with dedication and commitment to ensure that the WPRs receive all necessary services and support. He also laid emphasis on saturating all the welfare schemes vis a vis WPRs.
