Samba police arrests 2 persons; seizes 6 more vehicles for illegal mining

Samba, May 3: On the directions of SSP Samba Benam Tosh, Samba police acted tough against mining mafia, registered FIR for over charging/cheating and seized six (06) more vehicles for illegal mining in district Samba.
A written complaint was received at police station Samba from complainants Mahesh Gautam and Rohit Sharma to the effect that private employees of mining contractors were overcharging for sand and cheating the complainants by giving them receipt of rupees 1100.00 only against rupees 4000.00 actually charged at Daboh near Nud . Upon the written complaint, FIR No. 104/2023 u/s 420/188 IPC was registered at police station Samba and two accused namely Attam Singh s/o Shamsher Singh r/o Bishnah Jammu and Baldev Raj s/o Ram Das r/o Samba were arrested in the instant case and further investigation into the case is going on.
Besides, six (06) vehicles were seized for illegal mining in district Samba. The seized vehicles are: Dumper bearing registration No. JK08L-9145, Tractor Trolley bearing registration number JK21-7266 and four Tractor Trolleys without registration number. The vehicles were seized by police teams comprising of SHO police station Samba Rajeshwar Singh and Incharge police post Gouran Sajid Jaral under the supervision of DySP Garu Ram Bhardwaj and Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary. Total forty six (46) vehicles have been seized within three & half months for illegal mining by Samba police after launching special drive against illegal mining and police is continuously checking the wrongdoings of mining mafia in the district.
