DC Udhampur holds public outreach camp at Tikri

UDHAMPUR, May 10: Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur Sachin Kumar Vaishya today conducted an extensive tour of Block Tikri of District Udhampur and listened to public issues and demands at Panchayat Ghar Tikri as part of Weekly Block Diwas program .
BDC Chairperson, Nisha Sharma; DDC Councillor, Ashu Sharma, Sarpanches, Panches besides a large number of general public hailing from adjoining panchayats projected scores of demands and problems being faced by them. They demanded water supply augmentation under JJM scheme, release of pending liabilities under 14th FC, Establishment of Anganwadi centre, Repair of solar lights, installation of Hand pumps, Scarcity of drinking water, Opening of Sewing centre, Construction of Boundary walls, Construction of Panchayat Ghar, Construction and Black topping of various roads, road connectivity, Construction Foot Bridge over NH, inclusion of area on tourism map, Uninterrupted power supply in the area, Installation of mobile towers, Appointment of JE post, etc. The DC gave a patient hearing to the demands and problems raised by the PRIs and general public and passed on-spot directions for redressal of their grievances at the earliest. He directed the officers to take first hand appraisal of all the grievances of PRIs and redress them on priority.
The DC redressed many grievances on the spot by passing directions to the concerned officers. He stressed upon the officers to work with dedication and sincerity and redress genuine grievances of the people pertaining to their respective departments within the specified time frame.
BDC Chairman, DDC member and general public presented a detailed memorandum of demands to the DC and thanked for organizing the public outreach camp in the area.
