| Awareness camp organized | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 16: An awareness program on HIV/AIDs and drug de-addiction was conducted at Hakkal,Old Satwari Jammu by our organization, Shere-Kashmir Sports Club,Jammu in collaboration with Jammu & Kashmir AIDs Control Society. A large no. of youth participated in the programme.
The youth especially in the age group of 18-35 years were sensitized about the causes, prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS disease.
The Topology of HIV/AIDS was discussed among the participants.
The participants were also educated about the facilities set up by the Government and various voluntary organizations regarding the prevention, causes, control, testing and treatment of HIV/AIDS in the Jammu and other adjoining districts.
The implications of HIV Act 2017 were also deliberated upon. The resource person Karmjyot Singh spoke at length about the ill effects of drugs upon the youth and their associated families.
The need for voluntarily Blood Donation and community based testing (CBT) in the population was also stressed. |
