NC pays glowing tributes to Prem Nath Raju on his 22nd death anniversary

JAMMU, May 17: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference on Wednesday paid glowing tributes to former minister, former Provincial President Jammu and senior party leader Prem Nath Raju on his 22nd death anniversary, describing him as a leader par excellence who devoted all his life in service of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Leading the party cadre in paying floral tributes to Prem Nath Raju at a function held at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhavan here this morning, Provincial President Jammu Rattan Lal Gupta highlighted the immense contribution of the veteran leader in the development and progress of Jammu and Kashmir. He further said that the departed leader worked with a sense of commitment, devotion and dedication. Gupta said that Prem Nath Raju worked tirelessly for the upliftment of poor and down-trodden in different capacities as officer and minister. His contribution in strengthening National Conference at the gross root level in the Jammu Province remains a high point of his political career, he said, adding that the veteran leader made a distinct mark by serving the people, which will remain as a source of inspiration for the coming generations. Gupta further said that Prem Nath Raju worked for strengthening the fabric of secularism and brotherhood in the state of J&K. He lived a simple life and served the people of remote areas. While paying tributes to Prem Nath Raju Ajay Kumar Sadhotra former minister and Central Secretary described the late leader as a person of immense qualities who remained at the forefront in solving problems of the people. He said that the veteran leader worked hard in various capacities as a party functionary, former minister and Provincial President Jammu for people belonging to all walks of life. His services shall be remembered for the years to come. Paying tributes to Prem Nath Raju, Babu Rampaul former minister and Central Zone President also recalled the Contribution of Mr Prem Nath Raju in strengthening National Conference in the Jammu region besides tirelessly working for upliftment of the people. "Prem Nath Raju worked with both Sher-e- Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah and Dr. Farooq Abdullah and galvanized the party at all levels", he added. Paying tributes to Prem Nath Raju, Sheikh Bashir Ahmed Provincial Secretary Jammu and Abdul Gani Malik former minister said the towering leader left an indelible mark on the National Conference cadre by dint of his determination and hard-work besides strengthening the party at gross root level. He said the best tribute would be to strengthen the party at gross root level and make it a vibrant force to satiate the urges and aspirations of the people. He said that the late leader will be remembered for his high political caliber and having passion for serving the people, especially poor and down-trodden.
