Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, May 23: A 5-day refresher/orientation course for officers and officials of the Crime Branch, Jammu and Kashmir, commenced at SKPA (Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy). The training program is being attended by 10 officers/officials of the Crime Branch and has been designed to meet the specific requirements of the Crime Branch. The course aims to sensitize the participants about various aspects of Crime Branch operations, including the concept of FIR and its evidentiary value, investigation procedures under Cr.PC (Criminal Procedure Code), financial literacy, insurance frauds, fake currency rackets, land mafia operations, the importance of DNA evidence, utilization of Sexual Assault Evidence Collection Kit, cybercrime, and cyber forensics. An inaugural function was organized at the academy, with Rajinder Kumar Gupta, JKPS, SSP, Dy. Director (Indoor), as the Chief Guest. In his address, Gupta welcomed all the participants and emphasized that as a law enforcement agency, the fundamental duty of the police is to serve humanity, protect lives and property, and ensure timely investigations. He encouraged the participants to actively engage in the training program to achieve the desired objectives. The course will feature experienced and qualified guest faculty, including retired and serving police officers, who will share their vast experience and knowledge on different topics with the participants. The inaugural function was attended by Shri Sunmati Gupta, Dy.SP, Suraj Singh, Retd. Dy.SP (Guest faculty), and the faculty of SKPA. The coordination of the course is being handled by Inspr. Sandeep Mahajan, assisted by HC Randeep Singh. |
