Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 23: Former Minister Ajay Kumar Sadhotra expresses serious concern over the drinking water scarcity in the villages of Bhalwal area in the Jammu North Assembly Constituency. He describes it as a gross violation of human rights and a prime example of misgovernance.
During his interaction with the residents of Bhalwal at Mandi Bhalwal, Sadhotra emphasizes the unimaginable challenges faced by people without drinking water in the scorching summer days, extending for several weeks. He takes a jibe at the BJP's slogan 'Har Ghar Nal' (Water in every household), suggesting it should be completed with the addition of '20 din Baad Jal' (Water after 20 days). Sadhotra criticizes the double engine government for creating hype and failing to deliver on the ground. He highlights the inability of BJP leaders to face the people due to their failures on multiple fronts and accuses them of lying and making tall claims.
Sadhotra specifically addresses the water and power supply issues, stating that erratic power supply greatly affects tap water in various areas. However, the situation in the Bhalwal area is particularly dire due to the negligence of the concerned department. He calls upon the government to send a team of officers to assess the water scarcity situation in Block Bhalwal and hold them accountable for their insensitivity and lack of performance. Sadhotra urges the government to ensure daily water supply through tankers until permanent measures are taken to provide regular water supply to the residents of the Jammu North Assembly Constituency. He emphasizes that this issue should receive top attention from the government, which often indulges in propaganda rather than taking effective action.
Sadhotra also stresses the need for accountability from the divisional administration in ensuring regulated drinking water and power supply. Other attendees at the event include Capt Purshotam Sharma, Ghar Singh Chib Corporator, Dr. Rajinder Sharma, Ch Subash Chander, Pandit Surinder Kumar, Principal Suresh Sharma, Gourav Singh Jamwal, and Mohan Lal Verma.
