Early Times Report BARAMULLA, May 24: Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar, Deputy Commissioner of Baramulla, led a day-long public outreach programme at Kanispora Panchayat as part of the weekly Block Diwas initiative. A diverse group of stakeholders, including PRIs, civil society members, and prominent citizens, attended the programme and raised various demands, requirements, and issues of public importance. Concerns expressed by delegations from different areas included road macadamization, completion of drainage projects, development of a youth playground, road upgradation, and landsliding repair, among other crucial matters. The DC attentively listened to all demands and grievances, assuring the attendees that the issues would be taken up with the relevant authorities for prompt resolution. Emphasizing the importance of active public participation, the DC urged the community to contribute to the development of inclusive and public-oriented projects and schemes. During the programme, a student library was inaugurated by Dr Sehrish to provide necessary resources for academic growth in Panchayat Kanispora. Additionally, Dr Sehrish discussed the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme being implemented across the district, highlighting the Kisan Sampark Abhiyan's role in educating farmers about business management, entrepreneurship, and government schemes. |
