Police arrest hardcore criminal "Ranju"

SAMBA, June 2: In a significant achievement in their ongoing drive against criminals, the Samba Police, under the supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police Benam Tosh, has arrested a notorious criminal named "Ranju." Ranju is known for his involvement in multiple heinous criminal cases.
The arrested criminal has been identified as Ranju Choudhary, also known as Ranju, son of Late Kuldeep Singh, a resident of Kathar Kothey in Arnia tehsil, Jammu district.
Ranju has a long history of criminal activities, including attempts to murder, extortion, drug peddling, criminal intimidation, and violations of the Arms Act. Several cases have been registered against him in various police stations, including FIR No. 11/2020 under the NDPS Act at Ramgarh Police Station, FIR No. 19/2022 under IPC sections 307/353/382/34 and 4/25 of the Arms Act at Ramgarh Police Station, FIR No. 50/2020 under IPC sections 341/323/506/34 at Arnia Police Station, and FIR No. 12/2023 under the Arms Act at Arnia Police Station.
Most recently, Ranju, along with other criminals, attempted to murder a shopkeeper by stabbing him in the back in Ramgarh. A case (FIR No. 29/2023) has been registered at Ramgarh Police Station, and Ranju, the main accused, has been arrested. The investigation is currently underway.
The arrest of Ranju was made by a police team led by SHO of Ramgarh Police Station, Sudesh Kumar, and PSI Vikrant Kotwal, under the supervision of Additional SP Samba, Surinder Choudhary.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Benam Tosh, stated that the Samba Police is actively playing a proactive role in the district, consistently achieving success in apprehending hardcore criminals and smugglers. They are taking stringent legal action against them.
This arrest is another milestone for the Samba Police in their relentless efforts to maintain law and order and ensure the safety and security of the district's residents. The community can rest assured that the police are committed to combatting crime and bringing the culprits to justice.
