GGM Science College organizes Bicycle Rally

JAMMU, June 3: In commemoration of World Bicycle Day, NSS Unit II of GGM Science College, led by Principal Prof. Rajesh Kumar Gupta and guided by NSS PO Dr. Deepali Mahajan, organized a remarkable bicycle rally under the banner of MISSION LIFE G 20. A total of 20 enthusiastic NSS volunteers participated in the Cycle for Change Fit India Freedom Rider Cycle Rally.
The rally was inaugurated by the esteemed Principal, Prof. Rajesh Kumar Gupta, along with Vice Principal Dr. Anil Kumar Verma and NSS PO Dr. Deepali Mahajan. Riding smart bicycles, the NSS volunteers embarked on a cycling track within the college campus, covering an approximate distance of 6 km each.
Aligned with the theme for World Bicycle Day 2023, "Riding Together for a Sustainable Future," the event aimed to encourage individuals to embrace cycling as a part of their daily lives for physical fitness activities. By promoting cycling among the general public, the event also aimed to contribute towards reducing carbon footprints.
During the rally, the enthusiastic volunteers raised slogans to raise awareness among the public, emphasizing the importance of saving the planet by riding bicycles, adopting a green lifestyle, and promoting physical fitness while reducing dependence on fossil fuels. Slogans like "Save the planet, Ride a cycle," "Be fit, Go green," "Ride freelive Fit," and "Burn fat not oil, adopt a bicycle" resonated through the event, inspiring positive change.
The Principal commended the dedicated efforts of the NSS team, including the NSS PO and the NSS volunteers. Their commitment to organizing such an impactful event was acknowledged and appreciated. The coordination of the event was successfully carried out by Himanshu Sharma and Divyansh Nadh, who ensured the smooth execution of the rally.
The Bicycle Rally organized at G.G.M Science College on World Bicycle Day served as an empowering platform to inspire change and encourage individuals to adopt cycling as a sustainable mode of transportation and a means to promote physical fitness and environmental well-being.
