GCOE Jammu organizes webinar

JAMMU, June 16: The IQAC, IIC, R&D Cell, and ICT Department of GCOE Jammu jointly organized a webinar on 'AI Tools for Teachers'. The expert resource person for the program was Dr. Prashant Mothe from Osmanabad, Maharashtra. In the inaugural session, Prof. Aekta Gupta, the Principal of the college, highlighted the objectives of the program. She emphasized that AI is becoming an integral part of the education system in India, and GCOE Jammu aims to lead in introducing AI tools for teachers in its curriculum. As a training college for future teachers, the college is committed to equipping its students with the latest technology in teaching, learning, evaluation, and personalized education.
During the keynote address, Dr. Prashant Mothe elaborated on various AI tools that are gaining popularity among teachers worldwide. He discussed AI tools such as Knewton, Dialogflow, Classcraft, Carnegie Learning, Open CV, and others. The students had the opportunity to interact with the resource person during the question-answer session. Dr. Prashant Mothe reassured the students that AI tools are not a threat to human civilization but rather a progression in the development of human intellect.
Prof. Shalini Rana, IQAC Convener, expressed gratitude to the resource person for sharing expertise in AI tools. She assured the attendees that IQAC of GCOE Jammu will organize a series of hands-on workshops on AI tools to keep the students updated with the latest technology in education and research. The students who played a key role in the program were Neha, Shallu, Mehak, and Bhagyalakshmi. Technical support for the program was provided by Siddhant. The organizers, Dr. Deep K Bangotra, Prof. Radhika Mahajan, and Dr. Sushma Bala, assured the students that the college will provide essential technical skills for contemporary teachers along with ethics for the responsible use of technology.
