Dogra Colleges organizes career counselling

JAMMU, June 17: Dogra Group of Colleges, including Dogra College of Education and Dogra Law College, organized a seminar on "Career Counseling and Skill Development" in collaboration with Kartavya Institute, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu. The seminar took place in the Auditorium of Dogra Educational Complex.
The seminar commenced with a formal welcome address by Dr. Afiya Malik, Lecturer at Dogra Law College. The resource persons for the event were Dinesh Kumar Choudhary, Director of Kartavya Educational Trust, and Deepak Chouhan, Business Solution Head, along with Vinod, Head of JK Channel and Ex-Editor of Amar Ujala.
Dinesh Kumar Choudhary, Director of Kartavya Educational Trust, enlightened the students of Dogra Group of Colleges about the importance of career counseling for achieving their career goals and developing effective strategies for career planning. He shared his experience and provided guidance on the need and demand for skill development. He emphasized the significance of the startup culture in entrepreneurship and the requirement of skilled youth in various private sectors such as AI, Digital Marketing, and Sports analytics. Additionally, he encouraged and mentored students for the prestigious Civil Services Examination and related aspects.
The seminar included a question-answer session where the resource persons addressed the queries of both students and faculty members. The objective of the seminar was to create awareness among students about different career options, enhance their skills, and facilitate their career growth. Students from both colleges actively participated, showing keen interest in skill development, learning needs, and career counseling.
Prominent personalities present at the event included Dr. Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary of DET, Prof. Darshana Sharma, Director of Dogra Group of Colleges and CD, Dr. Vikesh Kumar Sharma, Principal of Dogra College of Education, and all the faculty members of Dogra Group of Colleges. The seminar concluded with a vote of thanks presented by Mrs. Shivali Mehta, Lecturer at Dogra College of Education.
