KISHTWAR, June 17: Deputy Commissioner, Kishtwar, Dr. Devansh Yadav today chaired a meeting of officers and members of Majlis-e-Shura to finalise the preparations for the upcoming festive occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.
The meeting was attended by SSP Kishtwar, Khalil Ahmed Poswal-JKPS; ADC Kishtwar, Inderjeet Singh Parihar; ACR Kishtwar, Varunjeet Singh Charak; ACP, Zakir Hussain Wani; Tehsildar Kishtwar, Muneeb Umar, along with representatives from Majlis-e-Shura Kishtwar besides other concerned officers of line departments.
During the meeting, several important decisions were made to ensure a seamless celebration of Eid-ul-Azha in the district. The Deputy Commissioner directed the officers of the Jal Shakti and JPDCL departments to guarantee uninterrupted water and electricity supply throughout the district during the Eid days. The Jal Shakti department was specifically instructed to deploy water tankers as required to prevent any shortage of drinking water.
The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kishtwar informed the meeting about the security arrangements to ensure the smooth conduct of the festival. Stringent security measures have been taken across the district to ensure the safety and well-being of all residents, he said.
To meet the demand for sacrificial animals, the concerned officers were directed to make available adequate supply in the district. The Chief Animal Husbandry Officer informed that a sufficient number of poultry birds and animals are available locally.
To maintain the quality and availability of essential food items, including fruits, vegetables, milk, and dairy products, joint market checking teams will be formed. The teams will intensify market inspections and monitor compliance with approved rates and quality standards. The Deputy Commissioner instructed the Assistant Director of the Food & Civil Supplies Department to complete the ration distribution process before Eid and ensure availability of LPG across the district.
The municipal authorities were directed to focus on proper sanitation, lime-lining, and lighting of streets, towns, mosques, and Eid Ghas. These measures will enhance the overall ambiance and cleanliness of the festive locations.
To ensure smooth traffic movement during the Nimaz Eid procession, the Traffic Police authorities were asked to frame a comprehensive traffic management plan. The concerned departments were asked to include the plan marking of alternate routes, erecting pipe barricading and regulation of traffic on Faridia road from Mini bus stand to Chowgan grounds.
